REWE Group
Annual Report
2025

The REWE Group embodies reliability in challenging times. This was once again clear in 2025. Even though we faced challenges outside of our control, we achieved a historic milestone: for the first time, we generated total external revenue in excess of 100 billion euros. This achievement demonstrates the efficiency of our business model, the strength of our investments and the trust of millions of customers in Europe. The past year has thus once again highlighted what the cooperative REWE Group stands for: ensuring stability, taking responsibility and actively shaping the future.

Key figures
2025

The cooperative REWE Group, one of the largest retail and tourism groups in Europe, can look back on a successful business year 2025 despite the persistently challenging geopolitical and economic conditions: the REWE Group’s total external revenue rose by 4.0 per cent to 100.4 billion euros, exceeding the 100 billion-euro mark for the first time. The investment drive continued at a consistently high level, with 2.5 billion euros allocated: investment focused in particular on digitalisation, infrastructure and the further development of products and services for customers. Three questions to Telerik Schischmanow

The REWE Group’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on the 2025 milestone, dedicated investments and the Company’s financial strength.

Telerik Schischmanow

CFO der REWE Group

1. Mr Schischmanow, how do you rate the 2025 business year from a financial perspective?

2025 was a special year for the REWE Group. Despite the still very challenging geopolitical and economic conditions, the Company managed to sustain its positive business development. In a deliberate move, the year was also marked by high levels of investment in current customer needs and the Company’s own future viability. The fact that the REWE Group has remained financially stable and has been able to grow in almost every business segment emphasises the strength and resilience of the business model.

2. Is there a key figure from the 2025 Annual Report that is particularly meaningful for you?

The total external revenue of the REWE Group of 100.4 billion euros is a key milestone. It shows that our strong investment strategy is bearing fruit and that we are making the right decisions, which are being accepted by millions of customers in Europe. At the same time, this figure shows that growth is possible for us even in a challenging environment. And we want to continue proving this.

3. How is the REWE Group positioned for the coming years?

The REWE Group remains clearly investment-orientated. In 2025 alone, 2.5 billion euros were invested in digitalisation, markets, logistics, IT and more. We have also invested in offering customers attractive prices and in customer loyalty programmes to create tangible added value for customers. These investments have a short-term impact on earnings, but strengthen our competitiveness in the long run. Together with our solid financial position, this forms the basis for further growth – even in a volatile environment.

Milestones form the year 2025

As a cooperative, we focus on sustainable management, long-term growth and, above all, a strong community. The milestones for 2025 reflect this with numerous projects and initiatives.
