Our sustainability strategy

Since 2008, the REWE Group has been pursuing an independent sustainability strategy that is firmly embedded in corporate management. In this context, we address sustainability issues across our business segments and continuously refine our approaches.

Our sustainability management is guided by the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Our strategy is based on four pillars, which we integrate into all business processes across our retail divisions: Products & Assortment, Energy, Climate & Environment, Employees, and Social Engagement.

The REWE Group’s sustainability strategy is shaped by four pillars. Within these pillars, fields of action define the main topics of sustainability commitment.

From strategy to practice

We implement a wide range of specific projects. Each sales division has a great deal of flexibility to develop measures that are precisely tailored to its strategy and business model.
