Cologne/Frankfurt, 22.01.2025. DERTOUR Deutschland GmbH acquires the specialist tour operator I.D. Riva Tours and is thereby strengthening its offering in the specialist travel segment. I.D. Riva Tours, with 55 employees, is one of the most renowned providers of travel to Croatia, focusing on cruises on small ships, group travel, as well as holiday homes and apartments. Subject to antitrust approvals, the takeover is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2025.
Strengthening the Special Travel Segment with an Established Brand
I.D. Riva Tours has a portfolio of over 200 holiday homes and has partnerships with almost 400 Croatian hotels and holiday resorts. Additionally, I.D. Riva Tours exclusively markets more than 30 motor sailers and yachts. The tour operator complements the group of more than 30 specialist brands gathered under the umbrella of DERTOUR Group across Europe. Most recently, this segment grew with the acquisition of Solmar Villas, a provider of exclusive holiday homes in the UK, at the start of the last year.
With this step, we are investing in Croatia as a fast-growing holiday destination in Europe,
says Dr. Ingo Burmester, CEO DERTOUR Central Europe and a member of the Executive Board of the DERTOUR Group. At the same time, we are delighted to strengthen our growing portfolio of specialist travel providers with I.D. Riva Tours. This not only brings us a renowned brand with over 30 years of experience, but also a team with deep product knowledge and competence for holidays in Croatia.
DERTOUR was a desired partner for I.D. Riva Tours. Joining the group is a logical step that allows us to continue offering authentic Croatian travel experiences while benefiting from the extensive expertise and reach of DERTOUR Germany,
says Konstantin Gaitanides, Managing Director of I.D. Riva Tours.
Existing Booking Channels to Continue. Expansion of Offering Planned.
The established brand will continue under the DERTOUR umbrella and grow further as part of the Group. As part of the acquisition, the employees will be taken over, and the company will continue to operate from its locations in Porec (headquarters) and Trogir in Croatia, as well as Gräfelfing near Munich in Germany. For guests and partners, booking channels and contact persons will remain as usual. Looking ahead, the offering in Croatia is to be expanded further. This includes a close cooperation with the DERTOUR Group’s destination agency, Destination Touristik Services, which has two offices on the Croatian Adriatic coast in Pula and Makarska. Furthermore, new joint branches in Croatia are also planned for the future
