Jan Kunath to remain Deputy Chief Execu­tive Officer until the end of 2025

REWE Group Supervisory Board approves early contract renewal

Cologne. At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of REWE Group approved the early renewal of its contract with Jan Kunath (56) as Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

The contract was due to terminate on 31 December 2022 but has now been extended to 31 December 2025. Erich Stockhausen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of REWE Group, said: I am delighted that we can continue to count on Jan Kunath as our Deputy Chief Executive Officer going forward. His experience, dedication and achievements have significantly contributed to the success of our group in recent years. He has enabled us to forge ahead with the modernization and continued expansion of our International Retail business as well as further develop and optimize our increasingly sophisticated IT structures.

Jan Kunath has been the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of REWE Group since 1 July 2017. He joined the REWE Group in 1992 where he started his career in leading sales positions in the wholesale business. In 2006, he was appointed to the Management Board of REWE Group Austria. From 2007 until 2009, he was Head of the Full-range National Management. In May 2009, he was appointed fully authorized representative of REWE Group for the B2B and Specialist Stores  As a fully authorized representative of REWE Group, he was appointed Head of the Management of PENNY National in September 2010. In 2011, he was appointed to the Management Board of REWE Group.

Jan Kunath studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences of Berlin. He is married and has two children.
