Our complaint procedure under the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) ensures a confidential and independent process for handling complaints regarding violations of human rights or environmental obligations. A complaint under the LkSG can be filed to report suspected human rights or environmental risks or breaches of obligations, such as forced labor, child labor, discrimination, or harmful contamination of soil, water, and air, as well as harmful noise emissions and excessive water consumption, that are related to the REWE Group, its supply chains, or its employees. Human rights or environmental violations cause significant harm not only to the REWE Group but also to society. Complaints regarding human rights and environmental risks or violations can be submitted by employees as well as third parties.
Complaints regarding human rights and environmental risks or violations can be submitted particularly easily via the REWE Group’s digital complaint system—anonymously, if desired. In addition, the digital complaint platform enables smooth, data protection-compliant communication between whistleblowers and the relevant departments within the REWE Group. Individuals who wish to file complaints regarding human rights or environmental risks or breaches of duty without using a digital tool can also continue to contact the REWE Group Ombudsperson.
Customer complaints—for example, regarding the quality of REWE Group products and services or the service provided in stores or travel agencies—are not considered complaints regarding human rights or environmental risks or breaches of duty. For such matters, please contact the customer service departments and hotlines of the affected company or the respective brand.
We expressly encourage employees and external parties to bring suspected human rights and environmental risks or breaches of duty to our attention. Whistleblowers must not suffer any adverse consequences as a result of filing complaints in a work-related context. The complaint procedure follows a defined process, which is also described at Rules of Procedure. The independence of the participants is structurally enshrined. They are bound by instructions and are obligated to maintain confidentiality.
