The demand for veterinary services is higher than ever in 2026 – and will continue to grow in the future due to the shortage of specialists and the changing focus of pet owners.* ZooRoyal and Medivet are now taking an important step together for veterinary care in Germany. The REWE Group’s specialist pet retailer and the internationally established veterinary community are combining their strengths to provide pet lovers with a comprehensive range of services in one convenient location. In the coming years, integrated Medivet practices will be added to the majority of the planned ZooRoyal stores – for a modern one-stop-shop experience where shopping, advice and veterinary care are seamlessly integrated.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Focus on animal health and well-being<\/h2>\n

Pets should be part of our lives for as long as possible. Health-related products and applications are becoming increasingly relevant in pet supplies – in parallel with developments in human consumer behavior. Animal health and well-being therefore also play an important role in ZooRoyal’s product range and brand strategy. ZooRoyal pursues the clear goal of accompanying pets through life in a healthy and species-appropriate manner – and supporting their owners in the best possible way in caring for their pets with high-quality products, expert advice and suitable services. Our vision is clear: we want to offer pet owners a holistic range of products and services for the well-being of their pets,<\/q> says ZooRoyal Managing Director Marcel Bersch. The cooperation with Medivet is a logical step towards taking even greater responsibility for animal health and well-being.<\/q><\/p>\n

This is exactly where the Medivet Group perfectly complements the offering: with more than 400 stores and 27 state-of-the-art 24-hour clinics, the company is a leading provider of veterinary care in the UK, Germany and Spain and contributes veterinary expertise and many years of practical experience.<\/p>\n

At the majority of the new ZooRoyal retail locations planned in the coming years, Medivet will occupy around 200 square meters of practice space and offer independent veterinary services – from diagnostics and standard treatments to surgery. This will provide pet owners with low-threshold access to medical care directly at a location that they already visit regularly.<\/p>\n
