It\u2019s no coincidence that one of our latest projects goes by the name of HOLMES. HOLMES stands for Holistic Management of Exceptional Salespattern. The tool uses artificial intelligence to help store employees find items that are hidden in the shelves or currently sold out, for example.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n                            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-myblocks-section block-section theme-gruen--1-dunkler section-bg-white\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-myblocks-row-margin-aside row-margin-aside my-row-block row-margin\"><div class=\"wp-block-myblocks-row-margin-aside-cell-aside row-cell row-margin-aside-cell-aside my-cell-block\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-myblocks-row-margin-aside-cell-main row-cell row-margin-aside-cell-main my-cell-block\"><div class=\"myblock-wrapper block-my-text-block block-ingrid\" data-module-name=\"Headline Copy Link\">    <div class=\"textblock margin-row-inner\">\n        <div class=\"entry-content\">\n            \n            <p>It works by analysing in-store transaction data with the help of AI. According to Lorenz Determann, Head of Analytics, this makes it possible to identify certain patterns, which can then be used to explain sales anomalies.<\/p>\n<p><q>The first step was to \u2018feed\u2019 the AI thousands of receipts to help it recognise and further refine patterns,<\/q> explains Julian Mennen\u00f6h, Head of Sales and Business Functions in Analytics. As a result, the AI became better and more accurate at detecting anomalies.<\/p>\n<p>Store employees also support the work by providing feedback on the lists: <q>We can therefore check the learned patterns right there on the shop floor, plus we can improve them even further.
