Compliance

Our behaviour is significantly shaped by integrity. This notably means that we respect laws and regulations, lead a fair competition and are reliable partners. Our most important standards of conduct are defined in the REWE Group Code of Conduct.

The Code of Conduct is based on the REWE Group Mission Statement and contains principles and minimum standards for our business conduct and dealings with one another. It gives us orientation and is mandatory for everyone who acts on behalf of REWE Group.

After the introduction of a professional anti-corruption system, REWE Group decided to implement an independent and decentralised Compliance Organisation. The compliance activities of REWE Group are directed and coordinated by the Central Unit Governance & Compliance. Furthermore, the decentralised Compliance Officers act as competent contact partners for their respective business units and country subsidiaries.

A significant objective of the Compliance Management System of REWE Group is to raise awareness for compliance issues and to protect the REWE Group companies and their institutions and employees from financial and reputation damages.

The realisation of REWE Group’s Compliance objectives guarantees a Compliance Programme. In this light, a number of preventative measures have been implemented, such as the introduction of risk assessments, training courses and consulting services.

Through the implementation of a group-wide Whistleblower System, violations of legal requirements or internal regulations can be reported to the responsible Compliance Officer or to the Ombudsman.
