Making a difference on the shelves

In Purchasing, you will tend to the development, acquisition and compilation of the various products and services for the stores and coordinate other important purchasing processes – such as the management and coordination of REWE Group's 6,500 suppliers. Furthermore, in Category Management, you will organise the range in breadth and depth.

Specifically, this area includes the following duties:

  • Purchasing from suppliers
  • Developing and implementing measures to optimise the range, price and positioning
  • Observing and analysing the market and the competition regarding the range and current prices including trend scouting to identify product innovations
  • Negotiating and managing suppliers, including with respect to price and conditions
  • Contributing to the development of new products and private labels in the corresponding product area
  • Advertising private labels, including evaluating offers and quality as well as purchasing decisions and listing
  • Developing, planning and implementing the range
  • Tasting and sampling products
  • Introducing and discontinuing products
  • Ensuring availability of items
