Vocational training: Sales Assistant

At the end of your training as a Sales Assistant at REWE Group you will have a lot more under your belt than just "selling". During your vocational training you will be made comfortable with all fundamental retail processes, from the receipt and warehousing of goods and their preparation for sale to the actual sale itself. You will learn how to advise customers as well as how to professionally carry out invoicing and cashier duties. You will be prepared for all this as well as possible by our training and development officers in specialised seminars.

The following specialisations are open to you:

  • Food
  • Delicatessen
  • Meat

As a Sales Assistant you will make a difference at REWE Group by:

  • Selling goods in a specialist store, a supermarket or a warehouse
  • Advising customers competently regarding their purchases
  • Packaging, storing, maintaining and pricing products
  • Invoicing and operating the checkout correctly

This is what you should bring with you:

  • An intermediate secondary school certificate
  • At least satisfactory grades in the subjects German and mathematics
  • Interest in retail and in the customers
  • An outgoing, friendly personality
  • Flexibility

This is what you will learn:

  • How to advise customers
  • The origin, acquisition and treatment of the products on offer
  • Accepting deliveries
  • Preparing products for sale and storing them
  • Invoicing and operating the checkout

Your vocational training will last:

  • 3 years 
  • Examination by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI)
