Occupational Health Management is an important element of intercompany social policy, helping employees to take an active part in their own health, improving working conditions and thus enhancing motivation in the company.

Therefore, Occupational Health Management is an important element of the REWE Group’s corporate philosophy of sustainability. Health -promoting working conditions and spurring health consciousness of employees take centre stage to be able to gain sustained acceptance on the market as a healthy and competitive company.

REWE Group’s Occupational Health Management comprises occupational medical aspects, health promotion and occupational safety and health. Competent experts provide advice and support to the employees working in the stores, warehouses, production plants and in administration. To this end, they work together with human resources managers, the central works councils and the working group of REWE Group works councils. However, not only is the selection of suitable actions important but also the fact that occupational health management is intensively pursued.

In a Group with as many business segments as within REWE Group (retail, logistics, travel and tourism, production, administration etc.) and therefore also different levels of stress, Occupational Health Management is faced with great challenges, the extent of which ranges from extremely physically demanding activities in logistics or in the stores, through to professional areas that are exposed to considerable mental strain, such as in administration and management.
