Committed to ethical production

The quality of a product and its primary characteristics are not everything. A product always has ecological and social aspects as well. That is why we aim to develop sustainable, ‘green’ products. To this end, we ensure that sustainability is taken into account at every stage in the production process through procurement guidelines, terms and conditions of supply and environmental principles. REWE Group pursues two decisive approaches here. Firstly, all of our suppliers undergo a very careful selection process and must comply with high environmental and social standards. Secondly, REWE Group brings important partners together around the same table so that everyone can collaborate in the development of common standards to ensure sustainable production. We take a number of approaches to ensuring sustainability in our product lines. We may, for example, decide not to stock certain species of fish if they are threatened by overfishing, or promote a particularly energy-efficient product line.
