REWE Germany Trophy

Together with the Verband der Köche Deutschlands e. V. (German Association of Chefs) with its federal state chapters, vocational schools and cooking clubs, REWE GROSSVERBRAUCHER-SERVICE GmbH (GVS) promotes young professionals. For more than 20 years REWE GROSSVERBRAUCHER-SERVICE organises the REWE Germany Trophy, which places the highest demands to its participants.

Traditionally, the competition for the REWE Germany trophy specialises in the preparation of cold dishes under the motto "Presentation plates - phantasy has no limits". The REWE Germany Cup gives young chefs the opportunity to demonstrate a renowned jury their skills and to compete with the best trainees. In ten regional preliminary rounds, those earning first and second place qualify for the final in Mainz. All trainees undergoing vocational training as chefs and students at vocational school can participate.

The competition has long since become very famous, which does not surprise as it offers young and committed chefs in the second and the third year of their vocational training the opportunity to a promising start into their careers. The winner will be paid a free stay at the renowned Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, the Mecca of the cooking trade.
