Corporate Carbon Footprint

First corporate carbon footprint drawn up in cooperation with Öko-Institut and Austrian Federal Office for the Environment

After REWE Group has already become the largest consumer of green electricity in Germany, the company has set itself the most ambitious objective to cut emissions - laid down in the corporate carbon footprint published for the first time in June 2009 - in European food trading: Compared to 2006, REWE Group will cut its specific greenhouse gas emissions by 30 per cent by 2015. Emissions will thus be reduced by about 320 kilogrammes of CO2 equivalents to 224 kilogrammes of CO2 equivalents per square metre of sales floor area.
