FairAlliance and bioRe® combine fairness, ecology, CO2 neutrality and transparency - from the cultivation of the crops all the way to the finished garment. Therefore, the FairAlliance fashion is not only neat, it also respects nature and focuses on people.
More than 200 bioRe® employees cooperate directly with more than 10,000 bioRe® cotton farmers in Tanzania and India, organise free training courses, ensure the immediate payment of the procured cotton and render support in the areas of crop cultivation and farm management. An important feature of the bioRe® system is that farmers have a say and the right of participation. The set-up of local infrastructures in Tanzania and India is strongly supported in cooperation with the bioRe® foundation; numerous projects have already been finished successfully. In November 2009, the FairAlliance school was opened in Anjangoan / India together with the bioRe® foundation. This school was opened with the objective to encourage parents in the rural region around Anjangoan to send their children to school. The FairAlliance school has been accepted so well that meanwhile more than 50 children are being taught there.
Strict social and ecological standards are applied and continuously controlled over the entire bioRe® production chain. This leads to fair working conditions on all levels from crop cultivation to the sale of the finished FairAlliance product.
