REWE Group Takes Over Tengelmann Supermarkets in the Rhine-Main-Neckar Region

Approval by the Federal Cartel Authority


REWE Group is going to take over 65 branch stores of the Kaiser's Tengelmann GmbH in the Rhine-Main-Neckar region. The Federal Cartel Authority has approved the application for the takeover.

"The approval of the Federal Cartel Authority provides clarity particularly for the employees", explained Alain Caparros, REWE Group's CEO. "We are looking forward to welcoming in the near future the employees of the stores as new colleagues at REWE. By taking over the branch stores of Kaiser's Tengelmann in the Rhine-Main-Neckar region we will be able to further improve the location portfolio for our REWE supermarkets."

With a turnover of almost 13 billion euros, the more than 3,300 REWE supermarkets and branch stores run by our independent retailers make an important contribution to the overall success of REWE Group.
