REWE Group Green Power Initiative: Switch to "Easy Natur" at Low Cost

Special offer for consumers featuring certified green power and a bonus of €120

The member companies of REWE Group (REWE, toom hyperstores, Penny, toom BauMarkt DIY and ProMarkt) will be offering their customers the opportunity to switch over to the low-cost green power "Easy Natur" and earn a bonus of 120 euros in the period from 29 March to 11 April 2010. The nationwide more than 6,000 stores and travel agencies belonging to REWE Group have been using certified green power from renewable energy sources exclusively since January 2007. Member companies of REWE Group are now offering also consumers an attractive opportunity to switch over to green power from "Easy Natur". "Not only do we as a company want to serve as an exemplary model for commitment to sustainable ecology - we also want to give our customers interesting and low-cost incentives to participate in active environmental protection," explained Alain Caparros, CEO of REWE Group.

One hundred percent of the low-cost, green power "Easy Natur" comes from renewable energy sources, bears the "OK Power" seal of approval and has been certified by TÜV North. Stiftung Warentest has rated "Easy Natur" with a mark of "Good" (1.9) (Test 11/2009).

The campaign offer at REWE, toom hyperstores, Penny, toom BauMarkt DIY and ProMarkt will be available from 29 March to 11 April 2010 and is limited in quantity. Moreover, the offer will not be available in Hamburg and Berlin and is aimed solely at private customers. The "Easy Natur" electricity contract can be terminated with one month's notice. Consumers who purchase "Easy Natur" green power for 12 months without interruption will receive an electricity bonus of 120 euros from REWE Group at the end of the period; the bonus will be credited gross to the next invoice. "We are offering this loyalty bonus for the annual statement because we want to actively support the sustained changeover by consumers to renewable energy," said Caparros.

Additional information about "Easy Natur" and the free bonus code for purchasing electric power and about the REWE Group power bonus will be available to consumers in the stores of REWE, toom hyperstores, Penny, toom BauMarkt DIY and ProMarkt from 29 March 2010 on. Consumers can log onto the Internet page www.rewe-group-gruenstrom.de, starting immediately, to find important tips for conserving energy in their households. Starting on 29 March 2010, the details of the terms and conditions for the low-cost green power "Easy Natur" will be available on this Internet site as well. The cooperation partner for the offer is Vattenfall Europe Sales GmbH. The contract will be concluded with Vattenfall Europe Sales GmbH.
