BILLA

Founded in 1953, BILLA is today Supermarket Number 1 in Austria and employs approximately 17,000 people in about 1,000 branch stores. BILLA stands for competence in food products, good value for money and a likeable image: the company offers to its about 4.5 million customers per week a well-sorted line of high-quality food products at affordable prices on an average sales area of about 500 square metres, focusing in particular on regional and natural products from Austria.

Since the beginning of the 1990s, BILLA has represented REWE International AG outside of Austria as well. The supermarket format now successfully carries on business for example in Italy, where in the first months of 2010 also the about 100 STANDA-Markets were changed into BILLA. Furthermore, BILLA performs in Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine.
