Vita Josef Sanktjohanser

Member of the Management Board of REWE Group

Josef Sanktjohanser, born in September of 1950 in Wissen/Sieg in the Westerwald forest region, has been a member of the Management Boards at REWE-Zentral AG and REWE-Zentralfinanz eG, Cologne, since 1 March 2004. After completing his studies in business, Mr. Sanktjohanser became senior manager of the medium-sized food retailing firm PETZ of his parents.

In 1986, Mr. Sanktjohanser joined REWE-Handelsgesellschaft Koblenz as the managing director. He has been in charge of REWE West since 1991, and he has also held other leadership posts as a branch manager and managing director for REWE Group. He was appointed to the Management Boards of REWE-Zentral AG and REWE-Zentralfinanz eG in February of 2004.

As member of the Management Board of REWE Group, Josef Sanktjohanser is in charge of the central unit of Corporate Communications.

Since 30 October 2006, Josef Sanktjohanser has been also president of the Main Association of German Retailers (Hauptverband des Deutschen Einzelhandels - HDE).
