Vita Frank Wiemer

Member of the Management Boards of REWE-Zentral AG and of REWE - Zentralfinanz eG

Frank Wiemer, born in Mainz in 1959, is a Member of the Management Board of REWE-Zentral AG and of REWE - Zentralfinanz eG since January 2009. As Chief Operation Officer (COO) he is in charge of the departments of Logistics, information technology, real estate property, corporate security, specialist stores national. Before his appointment, he was head of the senior management of Metro Group Logistics GmbH (MGL), which coordinates all international logistics activities of Metro Group. Under the responsibility of Mr. Wiemer, these activities were expanded to 27 countries.

After finishing school, Frank Wiemer did an apprenticeship in his parents' company. He started his professional career at Werner & Mertz (Erdal shoe cleaning and care products and Frosch cleansing agents, inter alia). After his studies in business administration for logistics (Verkehrsfachwirt) as night-school student, he served in senior management positions in the area of warehouse and distribution logistics at the world largest food company, Nestlé, and the logistics group Interspe/Codis in Unna. In 1996, Frank Wiemer joined the Düsseldorf-based Metro Group.
