Einstellungstest [Entrance test]

Entrance tests are common before slots are granted for vocational training and apprenticeships. If you have to take such a test, you should spend time preparing. It is best to ask us in advance how the test is structured. You would most likely prepare differently for a multiple-choice test, for example, than for a role play exercise. Nonetheless, it is a good idea to practice with some sample test exercises.

Fahrtkosten [Travel costs]

Normally you have to bear your own travel and transport costs to the job and to the vocational school by yourself as a trainee – unless you have made some other arrangements with the employer in advance. But you can also deduct the travel costs you have paid in your tax forms as so-called income-connected expenses (Werbekosten). If you are not sure how to do this, ask your trainer. He or she will be glad to help you.

Girokonto [Current account]

The days of receiving physical pay packets are long gone. So as someone entering the labour market, you need to have a current account so that we can transfer your training pay to you electronically at the end of each month. You thus need to let us know your account number, the name of your financial institution and its bank code number before you start your vocational training.
