Globalisation, innovative technologies and the new markets on the Internet are increasingly shaping modern trade.
To keep up with this trend REWE Group employees have to be able to not only have to flexibly deal with practical issues but also with the theoretical backgrounds of a trading company. This training course is aimed at motivated and qualified applicants who plan to combine training to become a commercial clerk for external trade and wholesale (Kaufmann/-frau im Groß- und Außenhandel) with an internationally oriented course of studies. The Bachelor course of studies is divided into six semesters. One semester at the European University of Applied Science (EUFH) lasts 26 weeks.
A 13-week block of theory at the University of Applied Science is in each case followed by a 13-week block of practice in a specialist area of REWE Group. During the course of studies you learn the fundamental background knowledge related to general and trade-specific business administration. During the practical phases you get to know the different divisions of REWE Group and actively participate in everyday practical company operations. You work out how to solve problems from operational practice both on your own and in project teams which involve several departments.
The fifth semester is spent abroad, and involves a block of theory learnt at a foreign university. The Bachelor thesis is generally written in the sixth and final semester. The course of studies is concluded with a 'Bachelor of Science (FH - University of Applied Science)' degree.
The EUFH (European University of Applied Science) Brühl is a private university and hence charges fees.
REWE Group takes over the full cost of these university fees and pays the full training salary during the combined course of studies. In the training contract the students obligate themselves to work for a further three years at REWE Group after completing their studies.
