Even during my time at university, I had regularly gathered information about potential employers - finally, I wanted to take advantage of a meaningful internship after graduation to find my orientation. Fortunately, my lecturer recommended that I visit a university contact exchange where I was able to obtain information and counselling at the REWE Group booth with its frank and friendly design. I was immediately convinced - this is my company!
During my internship, I work primarily in the department University Marketing, Group Trainee Programme and Group-wide Training Topics and, in addition, have had the opportunity to work with respect to specific projects in the department Change Management. So from the very beginning, I have been involved in current projects and gained intensive insights into the Management and HR Development Holding at REWE Group.
To my delight, my duties turned out to be highly diversified and varied. On my very first day as an intern, I was allowed to participate in a group-wide work circle on general vocational training topics and was able to gain a solid impression of the current requirements and challenges facing the training and association work in REWE Group. This is also where the REWE Nachwuchsförderung e. V. (fostering of young professionals) plays an important role as the carrier of all of the measures in the vocational training of trainees and young talents. During the annual "Honouring the Best", the best trainees and the best graduates of the young professional promotion programme are honoured.
An important and interesting part of my internship is the University Marketing. The aim here is to place our ads and our company profile appropriately for the target groups within the framework of the media planning. This also includes the appearances at trade fairs and at events such as the Deutsches Absolventenkongress; I am able to collaborate in the organisation of this event.
My wish to develop a solid footing in HR development and to assume more responsibility has clearly become more dominant. The highly varied duties and responsibilities and the contact to various applicants as well as to the company's employees during the conduct of projects are a lot of fun for me and have more than convinced me of the qualities of REWE Group as an attractive employer. The drawing up of concepts, the planning and the organisation of various events in university marketing and in the area of Change Management have given me the opportunity to link the theory I learned during my studies with actual practice.
Moreover, it is important to me that I can identify with REWE Group and its Strategic Business Units, and I must admit that I have become a genuine "REWE Store fan" since starting my internship.
