A Realistic Insight into Agricultural and Food Industries
Since its debut nine years ago, the Farm Experience at the international Green Week in Berlin has evolved into the key attraction at this trade fair. It has become "the" platform for the German agricultural and food industries and, above all, the fair’s most popular draw! Over 400,000 consumers visit this farm in the city centre each year. The joint representation of German agricultural enterprises impresses visitors in particular thanks to its unique mixture of realistic presentations of modern, sustainable agriculture and an extensive entertainment and information programme – including countless animals, a milking robot, farm fields, a mobile veterinary practice, and even a demonstration kitchen where famous top chefs wield their kitchen utensils each day.
"Our goal is to bring the modern, sustainable agricultural and food business to life for visitors in an understandable and engaging way", said Dr. Jürgen Fröhling, Managing Director of the Bonn-based "Fördergemeinschaft Nachhaltige Landwirtschaft e.V." (FNL), a German non-profit society to promote sustainable agriculture, which is the lead co-ordinator of the Farm Experience. Just as last year, the programme initiators demonstrate the entire production process for foods – seamlessly from the stables and the fields all the way to the supermarket and the store counter. This provides all consumers a realistic and comprehensive look at the production of foods in a unique presentation format.
The Farm Experience’s initiators aside from FNL include the Central Marketing-Gesellschaft der deutschen Agrarwirtschaft mbH (CMA – Central Marketing Association of German Agricultural Enterprises), Deutsche Bauernverband e.V. (DBV – the German association of farmers), and information.medien.agrar e.V. (i.m.a). A total of over 50 exhibition partners from the agricultural and food industries disseminate information on around 6,000 square meters of expo area. The Farm Experience is generously sponsored by the bank Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank. The radio broadcaster Deutschlandfunk is the Farm Experience’s official media partner.
